My name is Kimberley Lauton. I am an Integrative Nutrition Health Counselor and Holistic Therapist specializing in Functional Nutrition, Reiki, Reflexology, and Sound Balancing. I have always held the philosophy that in order for one to begin healing, the root cause of an illness or dysfunction must be found and addressed. I also acknowledge that many health problems are not born on the physical level, as our body responds to everything we think and feel, and how we feel affects everything that we do. Therefore, it is important to consider that there is so much more to what nourishes us than what is on our plate! In order to begin healing, consideration must be given to the whole person, on all levels, of mind, body and spirit, as they are all interconnected and interdependent. My own journey has given me a lot of insight into the many challenges one encounters in life. This has inspired me to want to help others, and enables me to bring a high level of empathy, respect and understanding to being a Holistic Health Practitioner.
In addition to many years of independent study, I am a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. I chose IIN because it is a highly esteemed school, and it is the first and largest licensed, accredited school of its kind that has a Holistic perspective on healing and bringing optimal health through balanced nutrition and lifestyle on a bio-individual basis. My Educators and colleagues include well known Doctors, Authors and Lecturers such as Joshua Rosenthal, MS Edu, Dr. Susan Blum, MD, MPH, Dr. Andrew Weil, MD, Dr. Harville Hendrix, Psy.D, Dr. Daniel Amen, MD, Deepak Chopra, Dan Buettner, Julia Cameron, and many, many more. I am extensively trained in the practice of food as medicine, and supporting and holding safe space for clients to transform their lives.
I have been very intrigued by the possibilities of herbals as medicine since I was a teen. I have built my standards on the safe use of herbs and essential oils as medicine by studying the works of respected Professors and Authors such as Terry Willard, PhD, ClH, founder of Wild Rose College of Natural Healing, and Robert Tisserand, and Rodney Young, among others.
I am Certified in Third degree Reiki, Master level, in the Usui System of Natural Healing. While there are many avenues to becoming certified in Reiki these days, I believe that to preserve the integrity and sanctity of the practice, and to ensure there is no margin for fraud, the best choice for a Teacher is an authentic Reiki Master with accounatble Usui Lineage, who teaches and gives attunements in person. I received my in person training and attunement by C. Lynn Carr, "Sea", of Experience Reiki NJ., and Donna and Terry Pollin, of Anjali Spirit, NJ. I began offering Reiki to my clients at my Salon in 2019.
In addition to independent study, I received training and certification in Reflexology by Diane Hynes, B.A. CBT AOBTA at Warren County College, NJ., which is based on the teachings of the developer of the science of Reflexology, Eunice D. Ingham.
I have been both musically and metaphysically inclined most of my life, and I know the effects music and sound have on a person's energy body. I have studied for years independently on the theories of sound healing through choosing appropriate frequencies for specific issues, for resuming healthy function on all levels of Mind/Body/Spirit. I have been most drawn to the use of singing bowls and tuning forks to discover and correct imbalances in a person's energy field.
The role of the Integrative Health Coach is to seek to uncover the root cause of health problems by exploring every aspect of a person’s health, including diet, lifestyle, health history, ancestry, environment, and levels of fulfillment in significant areas of a person’s life, in a confidential setting, with non-judgemental support. From this perspective, health problems such as Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, Autoimmune Diseases, etc. are seen as symptoms, and are clues to understanding the underlying issues that are the root cause. The goal is to address health issues at their origin, to possibly restore health permanently, rather than merely managing symptoms indefinitely with medication, which will often produce even more symptoms. With support and individualized strategies for deconstructing and reforming old patterns and balancing diet and lifestyle, real, lasting change is possible. It is in this way that Health Coaches bridge significant gaps in the healthcare system.
In health counseling sessions, there are often many breakthroughs and “Aha!” moments, that one may find incredibly enlightening and releasing, and the feeling of going forward with a new, refreshing outlook. Sometimes, it can be scary, like entering unfamiliar territory, or like learning to walk with new legs, and this is where the support of a health coach is most valuable.
Many Doctors' offices are now using health coaches to enhance their practice, to help guide and support their patients in making significant changes, and to adhere to their recommendations. Independent health coaches may also work in concert with your doctor. In either case, you may find that you will reduce your health care costs overall, and have an invaluable supportive experience by having a relationship with a health coach. Holistic Healing is an umbrella term which includes many different modalities, all of which take the whole person into consideration, on all levels of mind, body and spirit, as they are all interconnected and interdependent. There are many different practices that fall under this umbrella, but all share the common perspective that everyone possesses the innate capacity to heal themselves by restoring balance by natural means. I believe the areas of focus that affect one's health and wellness most directly are in nutrition and emotional and mental well being. My area of specialty is in Integrative Nutrition Health Counseling, which addresses health concerns on all these levels, and may be combined with the other energy therapies I am proficient in, such as Reiki, Reflexology and Sound Balancing.
Functional nutrition is the practice of promoting and restoring healthy physiological function by means of nutrition, paired with guidance for a healthy lifestyle and mindset. This is effectively facilitated through an Integrative Health Counseling relationship.
"Rei" means spiritual Wisdom, "Ki" means Life force. Reiki is a gentle, safe practice of hands on healing which induces a deep, relaxed state that facilitates the optimal function of the parasympathetic nervous system, the body's innate, involuntary agency for healing. It positively affects the whole person by finding and removing energy blockages that are obstacles to mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health. Reiki is also a powerful means for letting go of negative thought patterns that no longer serve us, balancing the chakras, and more.
Reiki isn't connected with any particular religion, though Faith is involved, by the practitioner inciting a prayer to the higher powers and Reiki ancestors for guidance. It is often integrated with Buddhist and Vedic traditions, as it was established near those regions. In the US, we are a melting pot, so various traditions may be seen in Reiki practice. The concept of life force energy is universal, and can be represented in any religion as coming from our Source. The client may acknowledge the higher powers in his or her own way, as, in Reiki thought, no matter the different identities of Source, it is inarguably anagolous for all.
No! Reiki is as natural as the trees and stars! The life force energy defined in Reiki, unlike other invisible energy, such as electricity, frequency or velocity, is not yet defined by science, but it can be felt, and tangible results can be attained from it just the same. The practitioner is a mere vessel, (with proper ethical training and attunement). The energy comes from our source, which again, is anagolous for all, no matter the spiritual background of those involved. Reiki, as defined, cannot do any harm.
Reiki is not a replacement for traditional medicine, but may be a complimentary catalyst for setting healing in motion and easing of symptoms. Services may be done in person, or remotely.
Reflexology is a Science, based on the ancient Chinese Practice, which uses pressure points on the hands and feet that are connected to organs and systems in the body, to remove congestion, stimulate healthy function and relieve pain. It can also help locate congestion in areas where problems are potentially developing but not yet manifested. After a reflexology session, most people feel relaxed and rejuvenated, with some or total relief from pain. It may induce elimination and detoxification, so it is important to drink plenty of water, and prepare for these effects. Reflexology is not a replacement for traditional medicine, but may be a complimentary catalyst for setting healing in motion and easing pain and symptoms.
Everything living and non living on the planet has a frequency. Certain methods of sound healing, such as playing singing bowls and tuning forks, produce frequencies which correlate with healthy frequencies in organs and systems in the human body. Imagine you strike a tuning fork in the note of G. Now hold that tuning fork very close to, but not touching, a guitar. The frequency of the tuning fork will affect the G string on the guitar, making it vibrate and you will hear the same tone. Or, imagine a thin layer of sand on the top of a speaker. Music notes will vibrate uniquely, causing the sand to arrange itself in patterns specific to each note. This example can be seen in a vessel of water, as well. This is exactly the same way that sound frequencies affect the cells in your body, as the human body is made up of 70 percent water. A person will be affected on all levels of mind, body, and spirit. When there are imbalances in the body, an external frequency which matches healthy frequencies in the body may then resonate and restore healthy function on the cellular level. Blockages or imbalances in the energy body from the past may manifest in the physical body as chronic pain or illness up to the present. These imbalances can be detected by the use of tuning forks, and removed and corrected. Sound healing is not a replacement for traditional medicine, but may be a complimentary catalyst for healing on all levels of mind, body and spirit.
